Position:

Global SAP Operations Manager (f/m/d) 

In this role, you manage the SAP operations for all companies of the group with operational excellence through a sustainable performance with stable/ improving user satisfaction level. The operations scope includes our SAP ECC, SAP PI, SAP BW, SAP BO, SAP Solution Manager and related 3rd party solutions (~15 small, medium and large solutions). Ensure that all Service Operations activities are carried out in a timely and realiable way. Lead incident, problem management process and consult on Change Requests. ollaborate closely internally with the SAP Competence Team, the SAP Authorization Team, Process Manager, Global IT organization and externally (one bigger SAP AMS and one SAP Hosting / Basis provider and other 3rd party solution providers). Continously focus on service and system improvements while not compromising on service stability. Own and/or contribute to defined IT and technical projects. Actively contribute to the SAP strategy and IT architecture decisions.

Zuständigkeiten / Hauptaufgaben

Main Tasks:

 

  • Detailed governance of Service operations considering
    • service and operations requirements
    • Operational KPIs
    • application/ infrastructure optimization
  • Leading the Global Competence Team from an operational point of view to steer priorities, workload and vision.
  • Transparent communication of operations aspects to management and stakeholders/ key users
  • Close collaboration and management of SAP Competence Team, SAP Authorizations Team, SAP AMS partner, SAP Basis/Hosting partner and other 3rd party solution owners
  • Weekly operational status meetings with partners and the internal Competence Team to ensure seamless operations
  • Owning the monthly Change Request Process with related stakeholders (SAP AMS, Senior Process Managers and Competence Team members)
  • Owning of re-occurring regular tasks such as system copies, operating system upgrades, archiving, etc. and management their execution in excellence with the partners
  • Monitor and track operations. Contribute to operational reports and measure Service Levels and escalate if needed to Service Manager / leadership
  • Share monthly operations status across all support parties to leadership
  • Monitor usage of applications/ infrastructure, propose simplifications/ improvements and check and approve/consult/decide on changes to infrastructure setup and SAP Basis configuration
  • Drive alignment across different stakeholders by e.g. writing clear recommendations & issue sheets and managing escalations pro-actively and transparently
  • Owning service-related manuals such as (Service Design Package, Support Bible, Templates and Guidelines used in the operations by the various teams.
  • Ensuring proper governance on defined processes together with all involved parties
  • Leading and managing on a bi-weekly basis Tech-Meetings with the related experts in SAP Applications and SAP Basis including hosting.
  • Managing and facilitating the yearly IT Audit with the external Audit company together with the various internal and external experts

 

Further Tasks in Service Management, Project Management and SME for SAP Infrastructure

 

  • Monthly Service Review with AMS partner and SAP Basis/Hosting partner to ensure overall Supplier Governance, Performance Monitoring
  • License compliance check and ownership of process with yearly SAP License Audit
  • Budget responsibility for Operations (forecast planning, actuals tracking, adjustments, reponsible for incoming invoices and verifications/approvals in workflow etc..)
  • E2E accountability for service quality and related costs
  • Manage Vendors/Suppliers from a strategic point of view
  • Secure smooth transition of projects or changes into the ongoing service portfolio
  • Ownership and management for technical projects such as version upgrades (EHP, Support Packs, SAP GUI, etc..) leading the team of experts
  • Evaluation of 3rd party solutions
  • Evaluation of architecture decisions
  • Consult on IT Architecture decisions related to SAP environment
  • Provide input into Change Requests and Projects
Qualifikationen / Anforderungen

Profile:

  • IT education / Bachelor degree
  • Up to 5 years’ experience in SAP (technical depth and solid functional overview)
  • Experience in SAP operations, SAP Basis / SAP Tech
  • Advanced Professional Knowledge on SAP Operations (Basis and either BW or ECC application knowledge), ITIL
  • Experience of working in matrix organization, ability to work remotely
  • Working (preferably also leading) in diverse teams and in an international environment
  • Convincing social and communicative skills
  • fluent in English
